The first Vest

When I'm outside, I'm mostly skating or dancing, and I don't always love to bring a purse because they either get stolen, or left behind by accident, or I'm just too lazy to carry one, but you know what I do love? An outfit with pockets!! And since I love vests, I decided to make a one-of-a-kind vest. Vests remind me of the 90s, the year I was born. I just love how you can wear a vest multiple ways, either with clothing worn underneath as a layering piece or worn by itself as a statement piece. The first Vest was made in early March 2024. I had upcycled these really cool orange Levis by my local goodwill months ago. Of course, the Levis didn't fit, but I didn't have the heart to sell them. Instead, I turned them into a vest. Using some of my sewing knowledge from college, and watching a few YouTube tutorials, I made my first vest. I wore it to Venice Beach skate plaza (Where I normally love to skate) and everyone gagged!! I had so much love and support, and everyone wanted to know when I would make more. Although I was nervous, I knew I had to make more, make them versatile, and one of a kind.
